p.s. I've played many church gigs with 1st tpt on picc and me playing 2nd on

and we blended perfectly. Is it the horn (a CG Benge) or is it just because
I'm so damn good (even though I never played in the Kenton Band - though I'm
having a helluva good time ripping through "The Singing Oyster," and "The Big
Chase," this term)

Well Patrick, since we seem to agree on the Bach stuff and such, I can't
figure out if this is supposed to be some kind of a joke or a put down, to be
honest. I know all the old jokes about "trumpet rules" and mentioning "when I
played with Kenton" and all that. Know what? In the grand scheme of things,
there aren't that many trumpet players who can really say that and mean it.
Know what else? I am damn proud of it.
If I use the Kenton legacy in any of my posts - I am NOT trying to brag, I
am just stating something that happened with regard to my time on the band.
It is no different than anyone else stating something that happened in any
playing situation that they might talk about.
OK - off the soap box now...............
