I agree Peter. 
 
I've got the Goz solo recording and I didn't really think it showcased  him 
well either. 
 
Nobody's mentioned the Charlie Barnet "Redskin Romp" album yet.   The big 
band tracks feature many of those discussed here already,  including that potent 
"mile wide" sound of Milt Bernhardt supporting the  trumpets (MF, Childers, 
Best, and Pete Candoli) from underneath. Goz  is on the small band tracks and 
they are pretty nice as well!
