Hello All,
The answer may be in part, Guido's Hand. The nineth century monk,
Guido D'Arrezzo, devised a method (movable Doh system) of teaching his
student's the scale, based upon a Latin hymn
St. John Hymn "Ut queant laxis" [ca. 800 A.D.]
Ut queant laxis
Resonare fibris
Mira gestorum
Famuli tuorum
Solve poluti
Labii reatum,
Clyde Hunt
