I have not seen or played the Van Laar Flugel. However I do have a 2006
Lawler TLFL, which has a 6 1/4" bell and a comparatively large wrap. I
ordered a Vax combo case and could not make it work; the flugel and trumpet
simply would not fit. Jim Becker from Osmun told me later that Protec had
redesigned the Vax case but I have not seen or tried one of the redesigned
ones. My horn fits the regular Protec combo case and their single case
quite nicely. YMMV

Bill,
I've looked at this case and it doesn't seem to fit
the flugelhorn. I think it's designed more for the
compact wrapped horns such as the Yamaha.
Thanks,
Steve
