Even more impressive to me than the double D is the accuracy and
"matter-of-factness" with which he does the phrase with the octave jump
to the high A a few bars earlier. His absolute control of the horn in
all registers is astounding to me.

Wow! He is SUCH a great TRUMPET (caps intentional) player. So many
nuances (intonation, purity of sound, facility, precision, control,
dynamics - EVERYTHING) of his own, yet sprinkled with the flavor and
"spirit" of MF. 

That's a DHC there, fellas/gals - CONCERT!!!!!!!! A Dubba D!!!!! Perfect
intonation, too!
