That's a trumpet player's dream come true to have a doctor who can often
better relate to the occupational hazards that trumpet players might face.
Lots of dentists are, or have been brass players during their lives. Dental
problems can be a horn player's nemesis and it's comforting to know that
these dentists have a bit of extra understanding . One of the finest jazz
trombonists in Boston was the late Dr. Gene DiStasio, who was also an
orthodontist that worked on the Herb Pomeroy band. Quite a thing to be one
or the other, but to be both is wondrous.
