Most of us are in the same boat where we have to abide by what our insurance
providers dictate. It's usually during the course of a visit to the doctor
where you might learn if a doctor is a musician. Like you say, a phone book
isn't going to tell you much. Of course, there are doctors and their
associations that can be more specific as to their specialties such as
orthopedics and sports medicine. After a slip and fall, where I broke my
ankle, I was treated by the N.E. Patriots orthopedic doctor. But it wasn't a
matter of my choice, because he was on duty at the time at the hospital I
went to. Whatever the case, it really wouldn't matter if the doctor had that
specialty or not since the doctor stood there with his hands in his pockets
while a medical technician set and cast my ankle. Ironically, I was the
mailman that delivered to his office. He was more concerned (but good
naturedly) if I had the slip and fall in his parking lot. Actually, I had
the slip and fall on my dentist's driveway where the lawyer put the bite on
him. Only in America!
