I am one of the lucky people who lives close enough to West Chester,
Pennsylvania, that I could easily attend yesterday's TrumpetFest. It was a first
effort by West Chester University, and the planners of this conference rose to the
occasion. All events started at or within minutes of the scheduled times, and
all seminars and workshops were carefully and skillfully presented.

Mike Vax and Nick Drozdoff frequently contribute to TPIN, so I want everyone
here to know that they both did a magnificent job at the conference--both in
their presentations and in their playing. To other TPINners: If you haven't met
or heard these fellows in person--do it whenever or if ever you have the
opportunity. They're wonderful musicians and great guys!

Not to slight the other clinicians, I commend the all of them who may or may
not subscribe to TPIN and may not get this message. Also on the program were
Dr. Luis Engelke, James Ackley, Craig Morris, Frank Kaderabek, Tony Gambaro,
and Jeff Curnow. All presentations were excellent! If you know any of them,
please let them know how much they were appreciated by everyone attending the
conference.

If West Chester U. makes this an annual event, I would recommend that all of
you consider attending. In my opinion, this conference shows signs of being
one of the good ones.
