Hi, Michael,

Regarding the MDT; I've had one for about a year and a half and I
play it every day. For an idea of some of its possibilities, take a
look at my web site at www.bartsmusic.com .

The second tune titled, "Fragile" uses the MDT muted trumpet patch throughout.

I really like the sound of the oboe and English horn patches, and if
you scroll down to the tune titled, "The Last Unicorn" you'll get an
idea of the oboe patch. A little further down is a nice example of
the English horn patch in "The Endless Dream."

I have recorded about ten tunes using the MDT and it's a real blast to play.

Two caveats though; Once you get a wind controller, it has a tendency
to become addictive and you'll find it trying to steal time away from
your trumpet practice. So, my advice is to keep up with your regular
trumpet practice schedule and find a separate time to devote to the
wind controller. Second, even though the MDT comes with its own
special mouthpiece, I would recommend using the same mouthpiece you
use with your trumpet. That way, you won't get any interference from
a different rim configuration.

The learning curve regarding the MDT is not very steep in the
beginning BUT, as with all musical instruments, the further you get
into it the more subtle the technique. Practice is the answer.

You'll notice several fringe benefits which carry over to the
trumpet, especially with the use of alternate fingerings, which are
required for fourth line D (1+3) and fourth space E (1+2). Plus, you
can practice with headphones any time and not disturb anyone else.

The MDT is so much fun you won't want to put it down!! BEWARE!!

Best regards, as always.
