[TPIN] low to get high

Good morning,.
This has been a standard technique for developing range for many years. Just
look at some methods that deal with range issues. From my perspective
musical use and development of all ranges is essential, and has a very
beneficial effect on tone, projection, ease of playing. (How could it not?)

Every day in combination with chromatics I slur octaves from the pedal notes
up to the high notes and back- without resetting the embouchure or taking a
breath between scale and octave slurs. I recomend doing these at all
dynamics. For the "double" pedal range* I do* reset the the embouchure. *(*See
Jeanne's book.)*
