This is related to the stream a short while ago regarding antihistimines and other allergy treatments, and to Trent's recent postings on gold/silver allergies.
Until about 3 years ago, I had severe allergies to animal dander, grass pollen, mold, certain types of dust (bug parts), and a few other things. These were all diagnosed by a traditional western medicine allergist. He prescribed the series of weekly shots to deal with my symptoms.
At the same time, I came to know of a treatment program called NAET http://www.naet.com/ a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to allergy treatment. My wife'e accupuncturist was a certified practitioner. She had previously been allergic to legumes and dairy products. After (I think around 3 or 4) treatments, these allergies ceased and have not returned more than 5 years later.
I saw the guy around 5 times (more allergies = more treatments) and have been blissfully allergy free since, requiring only a recent "tune-up" visit since my initial treatments in 2004.
For anyone looking to be allergy-free (and remain free of the effects of "brute force" anti-allergy meds), I recommend you try the NAET method.
Michael
