[TPIN] Strange mute in Annie

Hi,

I am playing the show 'Annie' next week and saw the part for the first
time tonight. In 'Easy Street' the part requests use of a 'Wood Mute'. I
have never heard of such a mute so am asking if anyone knows what this
mute is and what it sounds like. Also any info on its history would be
interesting.

In the recording I have it sounds as if the trumpet player is using a
Harmon Mute with the stem approx. 3/4 in.

Any info appreciated .....
