I'm sure that the trumpet player was Jack's brother Charlie. From time to
time, their sister Norma played piano with her bros. Jack was most adept to
using a water glass in lieu of the bell section. This was supposed to have
been HIS innovation that he perfected. As well as being a great trombonist,
Jack loved to tinker with gadgets. His trombone case was said to have more
tools in it than a plumber's tool kit. While Satch rarely used a mute, the
one he did use was a straight mute that Jack fashioned out of plexiglass (or
a similar material).
