Not sure if this has been talked about, but thought I would let folks
know. I have been using Band in a Box since I started my comeback. In
their 2007 upgrade they came up with a really cool feature, called Chord
wizard. I have never used it until this morning.
you put a cd in your computer, open it in Band in a box. BB
automatically rips the tune you select to BB and does whatever
conversions it needs to do to play it. You then click the chord wizard
button, then start playing the song, and it automatically analyzes all
the chords played in the tune.
after that, the chords show up in the normal BB window whenever you
play that tune. And of course you can easily (by clicking a button)
transponse those chords to your own desired key.
I have recently started playing with a blues/rock/R&B kind of band that
does not use printed music, so they gave me a cd that they had made up.
I just plugged it into BB and did this chord analyzing feature and BAMM,
did it make my job of arranging horn parts a lot easier.
