Stu,

That would be an excellent idea.  I teach HS and spend way too much time 
correcting problems which should have been easily diagnosed in 
elementary school.  (huge, long sigh)

I have seen kids who tongue with an exaggerated attack on every note.  I 
don't have to ask, but I do: "Where is your tongue touching inside your 
mouth?"

I guess some TPIN'ers can make this work, but I've never had a student 
who could.

I've had plenty of students who set their embouchure for something like 
a low C and then pin it open with impressive arm pressure.

Of course, most of them don't count while they play (they can count to 
beat the band if the horn is in their lap) and most of them ignore all 
dynamics and half the articulation: but that's why I get the big bucks.

Never ignore the basics.
