Wow - I think there is a big difference.    Especially  between an Eb and a 
Bb. Even my daughter, who does not even play music (but  has been around it her 
whole life), can tell the difference between the  different horns.
 
When you hear... say.. the haydn or the hummel.. on a recording - played on  
a Bb or an Eb.  They sound seriously different from each  other.   Perhaps a 
bigger difference than the difference between a  Cornet and trumpet. (perhaps).
 
Maybe it is a violinist thing - JUST KIDDING!
