[TPIN] mouthpiece finishes

After receiving all sorts of advice from lots of folks here, I've  
decided to give John Lynch a try for copying and replating my vintage  
Bach 7E mouthpiece.

But I thought I'd open up whole 'nother can of worms first...  :)

Obviously, the original finish is silver plate, and that's all I've  
ever used.  Unlike a lot of folks, I play with a dry embouchure (and  
I play upstream to boot.)  I'm happy with the silver, but I'd love to  
not taste it after playing, and I'm open to trying new things...

Any thoughts on getting one of the mouthpieces back with a different  
finish?  (raw brass, gold, something else?)   What's the 411 on  
mouthpiece finishes?
