Raw brass=bad idea
I prefer gold, and I've had John Lynch do one for me.
Nothing wrong with silver.
Some folks like plastic for outdoors, especially cold weather.......but 
I kinda doubt you'd have a mpc 'plasticicized', but then again, who 
knows?
