[TPIN] Don't Play R&B at the Symphony

Listing to the "make sure you get the style right" conversation reminded me of my college days.

We used to get a pick-up wind ensemble together to play for graduation (basically whoever stayed in town).  My last year there, the lead trumpet player from the jazz ensemble sat in (a great guy and good friend).  The tune was the Grand March from Aida.  When he played...bah dah dooby doo dah dah dah dooby doo dah dot dah... the first time through swinging all the way, I thought the wind ensemble director (the trumpet instructor at that college and another good guy) was going to swallow his tongue (and I almost bit mine in half trying not to bust out laughing).

We were all able to straighten up by the time the gig happened but it was hilarious at the start.
