[TPIN] Bad performances

The TPIN!!! How damned lucky we all are to have this list to help us through
the hard times!
Thanks, MA! I've been following this "sucking" thread from it's inception,
and I've been amazed at the great support you fellow trumpet players can
give!
I discovered the cornet 2nd semester of my HS freshman year. That beat up
old Conn Victor cornet my parents rented from the school for .50 per month
was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen! The next fall I was set up to
play my very first solo in front of people...at a vespers...The Holy
City....no one told me that your mouth dries up allowing you spit little
cotton balls, that your brain takes leave of your skull, and finger muscles
stop working! I had it memorized, and played it perfectly with my
accompanist before the event!
Talk about sucking! Probably not one note came out right...and there were
all of my friends sitting back about 5 rows rolling on the floor...That was
almost my last performance...but I loved that little piece of brass tubing
too much! Gentlemen, as you all know it's a DISEASE that pills, shots, or
doctors can't cure!
My life right now is SO rich because of my cornet...it's gotten me into
countries I never would have seen. All of my friends who were LTA'sO?
They're home watching TV, digging dandelions, visiting their doctors every
week, maybe fishing, but never enjoying life like I am!
Thanks again, MA!~
Warm regards,
Bob Romans,
