Hey Brendan,

Theoretically, If bach can make a rim diameter and a basic shape cup and whichevr backbore. then it is technically not a "custom" mouthpiece. my question is, "Since these are not commonly made mouthpieces, they probably don't make a 2E or a 1 1/2 D unless somebody wants one. So when they tool up and do a mouthpiece run, they put that on the list to be done at the end of the run of standard 7C, 5C, 3C 1 1/2 C which are the best selling "commonly available" bach pieces. It's not custom but the guys have to do a particular set up for th lathe to make that particular piece. So they may make one or a couple knowing that not many guys are gonna come in and say How come you guys don't have a 2D and a 1 1/2E available?

If I call you and say, Hey Brendan, call bach and hav them make me a 2E. When are they gonna make a big batch. Or will one of the guys take an extra 10 minutes to punch in the specs and crank out the mouthpiece to go for plating with the rest of them.

I will get all this info to everyone tomorrow morning when I return to the office and I have my 'Magical Mouthpiece Bible" that I am famous for in the office. I'm sure I can come up with most of these specs for you. Actually, you forgot the variable C, so the answer is 44C (44 is double and then the C, so your conclusion was correct double C!).As for special ordering on Bach mouthpieces, currently we are selling the dream of one day owning a custome Bach piece, no actually pieces are being sold........Brendan CriseWoodwind and Brasswind1-800-348-5003 ext. 2360
