I'd investigate all the lightweight bells while you are thinking of tinkering around with your horn. I like the regular leadpipe myself, but while you have it apart, it does not cost that much to do the reverse leadpipe conversion, if you find you like it. I would try some different horns before you order parts. Don't know where you live, but who knows, you may find a new or used one set up just like you like it already.

Here's a question for the group. I have an Elkhart Bach 37 that I bought
new in the early 70's (I paid $350 for it, brand new street price.
Unbelievable, huh?).
Anyway, I am thinking about resurrecting it. The valves are still pretty
good, but the leadpipe and bell are in need of replacement. My question
is: What combination of bell and leadpipe would give me a more open blow
than the standard 37 bell and 25(?) pipe? Or is that not feasable? TIA
