dude,

purely a statement of fact. No judgment at all. As a matter of fact, i think that NY Phil clip had 4 tpts playing.

BTW Jeff, my head is already shaking. I'm a bobble head. (also have been called other kinds of heads)

and further, If I could find more good players I'd have 6. But most of em I would have access to suck lollipops so 3 is the safest. Hey, the gig is August 3 and 4 with a rhrsl at least the day before. When can you get here?

glenn, I'll be thrilled to be in tune with myself, much less a section!,bengry

Glenn, Glenn what are you saying man?

Are you suggesting that just because the original score had 3 trumpets that playing it with 5 trumpets isn't an "improvement"?

Give your head a shake man, it is always better to have more trumpets.....

Jeff

Yea Jeff, I have that Woody recording. It is exciting. the original score has only 3 bones and 3 trumpets though, and 4 horns x x> > The best version of Fanfare for the Common Man I have heard was the one> Woody Herman did on his 40th Anniversary Carnegie Hall Concert Album.> > Trumpets - Allen Vizzutti, Nelson Hatt, John Hoffman, Dennis Dotson, Bill> Byrne> > Beautiful> > Jeff
