Another approach is to ask the owner of the "Taco Stand" to not sell drinks 
to the band while you are working... after all you are all working for 
him... does he let his wait staff get drunk while serving tables? Probably 
not. It just makes good business sense to hold employees to that standard. 
I've played at a couple of places who have that as a stated policy... after 
the gig is finished go nuts if that what you want to do... but when your 
working, don't be "self medicating"!
