[TPIN] Al Tobias

Just read in the most recent Musician's Journal that Al Tobias passed away 
February 6th.  I took some lessons from him back when I was in college and I 
still remember (and practice!) the things he taught me about air support and 
tonguing.  He was a great guy, and a terrfic force on the trumpet.  He used 
to always play for the circus when it was in town, and I remember the 
pronounced callus he had on his upper lip.....  I heard tales that he could 
play all night and never get tired!

Not sure if anyone else out here knew him, or took lessons from him... but 
he will be missed.
