What is with Benjamin Britten and his 3rd trumpet parts?  The 4 Sea Interludes has a killer 3rd part and I just got my part for Billy Budd.  Trumpet in d, in the stratosphere, not to mention soft.  I'm going to have to work my butt off.  If anyone has played this part, what trumpet(s) did you use.  Based on some fingerings written in the part it looks like the last player who played the part used a picc for much of it.  Any thoughts, anyone?  Just needed to vent.
