Sorry, I meant to answer this the first time...
It was probably Bob Reeves Brass Spa.
They stopped advertising this procedure, but I know they still do it.
Another company that converts bach and yamaha c trumpets to be better in
tune and more consistent in all registers is Ken Larson's Brasswerks.
I have two of his bach conversions and like them very much. I have two
students who play his bach conversions as well and those horns are also
quite good. Yes, the braces between the bell stem and first valve slide and
between the third slide and tuning slide are loose and can be adjusted. He
also puts his own leadpipe and tuning slide on, buffs down he bell and makes
it lighter, re-silver-solders the bell ring, ads a long ferrule to the bell
stem, puts it all back together with no stress or tension and deburrs all
the solder joints on the inside of the horn. I'm sure there are other little
tweaks he does that he doesn't tell anyone. :-)
If you are at ITG check em' out. I nice solution for those who need/want to
play Bach, but are having problems with pitch and consistency.
