Good morning to all,
My Grandson wants to learn to play the trumpet, so I am sending him my old
Blessing XLTR and some lesson books.
It's been 40 years since I was staring at the Rubanks in wonderment.
I need some opinions here.
Which are the better novice books,
The Mel Bay Method or Rubanks Methods.
Please advice.

Hi Jerry,
How great that you are able to get your grandson started out on one of your
old horns! Try Hal Leonard's "Essential Elements 2000" book. It has a
play-along CD and a DVD that helps beginners with all the basics. I know I
didn't answer your direct question, but I think you'll like this book better
than either of the others for a true beginner. You can read more about it
here: http://www.portlandmusiccompany.com/books/ee2000/1Bbtrumpet.html.
