A young and gifted Frank Zappa on the Steve Allen show. Kinda long,
you need to watch parts 1 and 2 for the complete effect. Can you
believe there was a time when network TV would take a chance like this?
Ah, the golden years....

Trumpet content= the studio band plays along, a couple shots of the
trumpet player. Can someone on the list identify him?

Although a grainy video, I'm going to take a wild guess about the trumpet
player being Jimmy Zito. He was the regular for the Don Trenner band on
Steve's show. If my memory serves me well, Frank Rosolino was the trombonist
with the band as well as Bob Eneveldsen (spelling?) on tenor and valve
trombone. I remember reading at the time in a newspaper, that Steve thought
that the band on his show could 'cut' the NY Tonight Show band when Skitch
ran it. Then, Doc, Bernie Glow, and Clark Terry were the members of the
trumpet section. How's that for a quick moment in history from a guy who has
all too many 'senior moments' and can't remember what I had for breakfast
1/2 hour ago? 8-)
