[TPIN] DILEMMA - Playing lead parts?

I had this happen to me a few years ago after playing in a group for only a
few months. Oddly enough, it was the former first player who suggested I
take his place.
I never had much of a problem with it, other than it did feel a little odd
taking over for someone else. After a few practices, it didn't feel
awkward. Now, we trade parts from time to time. He has a few songs he
really likes to play first on, so he does.
That said, I don't know if that helps much.

Subject: [TPIN] DILEMMA - Playing lead parts?
All,
So here is the dilemma:
How do I deal with this? I don't think he wants me to be the lead but, to
play his lead parts can I do that? I don't want to be hated or not accepted
in the first trumpet section. I also don't want the other thirds or seconds
to look at me in a bad light either.
