those
notes to the power and let those instruments have them. But, for some crazy
reason, they don't (or won't). They insist on playing the instrument where
it was never meant to go. And where, IMO, it sounds decidedly bad.
Why? (ala Letterman's Top 10 List ;^)
1. Because they're there!
2. Because it's fun!
Be safe, God bless.

Hi James,
I'm placing this story right along with the
Chupacabras tale!
Arturo is a phenomenal musician in all aspects.
I've been to one of his shows and it's been an amazing
and inspiring experience.
Next thing I'll be hearing is how one of the Juliard
students outplays Wynton at the Duke Ellington
festival in NYC!...Just kidding!
Sincerely,
James P.

I am sure there are guys who can play higher
but so what? Can they play it all like Arturo can? I
know of no
other.
And that's not to mention his piano playing!!!
Looking forward to his new CD Rhumba Palace out later
this month.

Thanks, Jeff.
I've got the 331/3 rpm LP, but never got to see the video 'till now.
Truly great music. For those of you who do not have the DVD, here is the
rest of New Rhumba: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlGbNMt_jzg.

So, William, exactly by WHOM and WHEN was the decision made as to where the
"trumpet
was meant to go?" Didn't you go over this same road a few months ago? Catch
a clue...
for once, please.

Not to revive the recent harmon mute thread, BUT,
in this clip I notice that the trumpet section was using harmons WITH
stems.........

I noticed several new people have logged into the TPIN chat room throughout
the day today already.
We usually don't get started with discussions until about 9 pm EST and
beyond. However, some of us stay logged in all day. If you come by and there
is no discussion, be patient, hang around and say Hi and perhaps someone
will be around to answer you.
Most of the gabbing is in the evenings though.
Thanks
