[TPIN] in-bell trumpet stand recommendations

Yeah.. I have used spiders for a long time too.. Then I stopped using bell
stands completely while playing Monette trumpets. Since going back to Bach
(that could be a marketing slogan eh?) I have been using stands again. I
like the K & M because it is heavy duty and fits in the bell in my case. I
have noticed some bell dings... I just try to be careful putting my horns on
the stand.
I can¹t imagine a spider wearing out, but I have had the mechanism come
apart... I have one of the original spiders from Germany where the plastic
was much harder than the soft stuff most of the stands are made of. Too bad
they changed that material.. The original hard plastic stands are amazing.
They only used that material in the first run of these things I think...
I¹ve never seen anyone else with one and got mine 20-25 years ago I think.

Gee Mike, I too use the old spider stands. I have had mine for close to 30
years. Sure will be mad if they ever "give up the ghost." Actually, I have
the K and M stands too, but my problem is that they don't quite fit, and
they put some little dents in my bell, so I did go back to the spider
stands.
