[TPIN] Took the plunge

Just a quick note to thank you all for the "come back" advice that was floating around a while ago.

I just sat in with a local community band and had an absolute blast!  I have a little rust on the chops but I didn't completely suck wind (though I do have to sit down and do some exercises and a little woodshedding).  Fun/frightening thing about it was the director distributes parts throughout the ensemble...second tune in I was plowing through a Grainer thing on first trumpet (one on a part)...just like ridin' a bike says I.  The rest of the folks in the section were great and very welcoming...I'll definitely have another go at it next week.
