Having played many gigs at local VFW and American Legion posts for
installations and such, we've played service song medleys a zillion times. I
don't believe there's an etched in stone protocol where generally it's left
up to the crowd as to who stands when each song is played. Since
organizations like the VFW and American Legion are among the last bastions
of freedom and independence, the crowd tries to do the right thing where
separate branches of the military seem to meld together as ONE. It makes no
difference to me WHO stands. The bottom line is that ALL branches of the
military are honored, no matter how the crowd manages to recognize and honor
them.
To all veterans past, present, and future, I bid you a sincere "WELCOME
HOME" with much thanks.

want to stand for their son or daughter who is currently serving.

I spent over 26 years in the Navy and it is my opinion that families are an
important part. I doubt that there is any regulation that states whether
families may or may not stand in a public performance. Therefore, let the
families stand. They were every bit a part of the Navy (or any other
service) family

Many call El Lippo a piece of work.
But this piece of work is a true work of art.
