Not to inflame a subject... But I take antihistimines all the time.  
What particular category of antihistimines were you referring to - I 
must have missed the original post.  Currently, I use the generic 
Claritin (loratadine).  Allegra (fexafenidine sp?) didn't work for me 
and resulted in a bad upper resp. infection.  For years, I used to take 
Benedryl or Chlortrimeton or the other drugs of that ilk, but had to 
keep switching every few months as the liver built up a resistance to 
them.  I know this newer class of antihistimines work very differently 
and am curious. 

The dry mouth I get now is more of a side effect of Prilosec than the 
loratadine - though it's hard to know.  I know there are a lot of folks 
on this list who take omeprazole (or esomeprazole).  When I play, I 
usually have to have gum, even if I tank up on water - to avoid dry 
mouth conditions. 

As this effects us as trumpet players, it's topical and am curious to hear.
