The other day I received an email from Australian composer/trumpeter, Adrian
Kelly, that his piece, “Curious Yellow” was voted the Song of the Year in
the Jazz Category by the Western Australian Music Industry Association. This
is an unusual piece for string quartet and jazz flugelhorn soloist. I was
the flugel soloist.

This tune is on the CD, Intercontinental Drift, co-produced by Adrian Kelly
(who composed all of the music) and Felix Vayser. This CD features 6
trumpeters – the performing artists of the New York Trumpet Company.

I felt quite honored that Curious Yellow was chosen for this award as 50% of
is completely improvised. I’m grateful Adrian put his faith in me to flesh
out his work. I have it loaded onto my site in its entirety. If you would
like to purchase the CD go to http://www.newyorktrumpetcompany.com . Felix
has them for sale there. I have several samples of the rest of the CD in my
media player as well.

Just drop by http://www.nickdrozdoff.com and go to the little audio media
player at the top of the page. Look to the right and you’ll see a little
drop down menu. Open that and you can select “Curious Yellow” directly. Feel
free to peruse the other samples as well.

For more information just go here:

Every day I find something else to be grateful for. This is just one more.

Thanks, Adrian, for including me, and I hope you sell MANY CD’s! ;-)

Peace, all.

Nick Drozdoff
