[TPIN] Baritone-help with trumpet playing?

I occasionally play trombone with my students (pretty decently, I
might add), and find it is actually pretty good for my chops. Years
ago, out of fear for my trumpet chops, I avoided doing it, but it
really does seem to strengthen things - possibly because it uses a
larger set of muscles(?). I wouldn't expect to really do anything
really strenuous on either trumpet or trombone immediately following
the other, but overall the effect is positive for me. I don't
incorporate the trombone into my trumpet routine, and have never
known anyone who did such a thing. Obviously any brass playing has
to be done efficiently to work for any length of time. Everyone
needs to find their best path. Dave Adams
