I don't know for sure, but my understanding (from various sources) is that
with Doc's retirement from playing, he doesn't feel he will be in a position
to adequately monitor the production quality.  Or it may be that he just
doesn't want the headache as he enters retirement.  I hope it's the latter,
because if Doc can't evaluate a good horn, even with a diminished skill set,
than there is no hope for me!  :)
