I'm curious as to how the band learns new, original tunes without
being able to read... Is it totally by wrote learning at rehearsals,
or do they use some other approach (recording ideas and distributing
prior to rehearsla, etc....)
I play with a rock cover band where only the horns read. It's a good
band, but the rehearsals can put you in stitches. Because nobody else
reads, if they get screwed up toward the end of a tune, it can take
major time and confusion for them to decide a starting point to
resume! I look at the tenor player and say "aw crap... Now they're
gonna start over...". (!)
