sounds like the design of the mouthpiece to me and not what it is made of.
Glad to be back.....I went to hotmail live and it stopped all tpin mail but
let in all the chorus mail's group that I belong too. After a week at
hotmail live, I was getting trumpet ignorant!

Jeff,
I've been playing a stainless steel mouthpiece since late May. I've found I
can play much louder without the sound breaking up, but also much softer
with all the control I want. It also seems to promote cleaner attacks.
Some of this may be the design of the mouthpiece, but I'm sure some has to
do with the material. The specific piece I'm playing is the Giddings &
Webster David Hickman TBR. It's similar to a Bach 1B with a 22 throat.
