Mike, Mike, Mike......I'm slapping down the bullcrap card.
You've done nothing but bust on Monette here for the last four days.
At least be honest enough to admit you are NOT a good source to talk
in an unbiased manner on Monette or his product, because it is
exceptionally clear to anyone who can read that you are not.
You are a great player, and have given a lot of good advice on many
subjects here. But your bias here is showing, as well as (*on this
subject only*) your ignorance.
Monette has never charged me a dime for "tune-up". If you are the
original owner of a horn, he sends out all of the o-rings, valve
felts and springs, bungy cords, and other materials for your horn
free. He charges for a chem cleaning if you have it done, and asks
that you ship it FedEx to avoid damage in shipment. He took a ping
out of a slide for free, realigned my valve cluster (with proper
felts, and sent a few sets that match) for free.
The only thing you really cannot do with a Monette is use a trumpet
stand, and even Maynard did that with his, so.....
Don't be so believing of all the negative stuff you read.
