Al,
I've got a Getzen Eterna flugel that I bought in 1979 from Giardinelli's
when it was still located on 46th St. in NYC. It plays nicely and the valve
action is good. The only problem I had was about 20 years ago; I had taken
it out of the case and found that one of the slides had cracked open! I
sent it back to Getzen and they repaired it ASAP at no cost to me (except
for the shipping). The only other thing about it is that it tends to
collect spit/water after only 10 minutes of playing, and needs to be emptied
frequently after that. However, the sound is excellent, the playability is
good and I think it is a very nice instrument.

Im curious about other opinions about Getzen flugelhorns. Horntrader.com has
a getzen that a friend of mine is interested in purchasing. Let me know what
you all think. THANKS _______________________________________________
