I don't get it.

I respect Jim Donaldson immensely, but where did he say Getzen's suck?  He
doesn't and in fact doesn't comment on the 3895 at all...

OK, maybe I'm reading too much into your post, but I own one.  I also own an
older French Besson Flugel.  Both are 3 valve and both play beautifully.

My Getzen is a 3895 with a Goldbrass Bell.  It's essentially the same Flugel
Mike Vax plays and I really appreciate the sound he achieves on the CDs I've
listened to.

The Getzen achieves a wonderfully "velvet" tone and I don't have any issues
slotting any specific notes -- at least not according to my CenterPitch
tuner...
