I think Jim Donaldson was hinting in a nice way that
the larger Getzen Eterna flugelhorns might not be good
enough for the picky discerning pro. The trombone like
sound, the bore size , and the intonation issues are
the three main strikes that pros have against the
Getzen Eterna flugelhorn.
We have a very nice 1975 french shank bell forward
Getzen Eterna 4 valve in silver that was graciously
donated to this ministry. The kind individual who
donated the Getzen for our students to use upgraded to
the Kanstul 1535.
I think that the Kanstul 1535 and the Calicchio are
both much better flugelhorns than the Getzen Eterna.
As soon as I can afford to, I plan to look for a good
used Kanstul 1535 or a Calicchio flugelhorn.
