""Monette suggests a two-handed pick up at the valve cluster. Not the way
you
hold it, but wrap your hand around the cluster itself. Once it is
safely in
your left hand, then put your right hand in place.""

IN all seriousness; how then do you do a mute change.
Does Dave suggest that you have a mute assistant?
I fully understand WHY Dave wants the horn so soft.
(I really do.)
And it does have a big affect of the sound it gets.
However; there comes a time when REAL world pushes IDEALS and this is why other horns are not made soft like that.
Dave actually did tell Maynard how to handle his new horns.
And Maynard did damage some in the first few months.
MY student Keith Fiala was in charge of Maynard's horns during this Monette transition period.
So I heard about all of both the good and the bad.
Don't even attempt to blow any smoke up me.
I remember the old Jag XKE.
I knew people who had it.
Man what a FUN car.
But they also had daily drivers so they could actually get to work.
In the REAL world dependability is a REAL issue.

It is the smart application of hard work that gets you there.
