John,

I agree we all have bias.  I disagree in that some have checked their 
biases in this instance, and in fact jumped to conclusions based on 
half truths, or ignorance of the situation.  In the face of some 
pretty interesting information that changes the light on the subject 
entirely, the man still faces criticism.

Likely no maker in the history of instruments has faced the 
polarizing effects that David has on the trumpet world.  And, even 
today, the mention of his name with anything positive on this list, 
on trumpet herald, or any of a number of other places causes 
consternation and ill will.

It is disappointing to see that this forum has only marginally grown 
in 10 years on this subject.
