Hi all,
I agree that chinese instruments are lowest quality, but must recognize the
high potential they have.
I received some offers to engineering instruments for chinese brands, but I
always refused them.

This question is being emphatized to another question: American made or not.

Keep on mind that there is very few top quality brands (trumpet brands) in
the USA: Blackburn, Callet, Calicchio, Kanstul, Monette and Schilke. (there
are also some other good makers, but no "TOP"). In Europe there are about 50
small makers wich could be consideered "TOP", but they are very small makers
who preffer quality vs quantity. Thought that the whole production of these
makers will not reach Bach's Strad production.

There is a serious troubble: globalization vs local bussiness.

Here in Europe we use to start playing with Yamaha, and then go for a Strad.
Also, you know that some european brands are more focused to USA market
rather than european (Stomvi, i.e.).

All we know that the whole market is suffering due Asian expansion, an it is
being translated to the musical instruments field, wich is not being
seriously damaged (at least for the moment).

Thought all we must be carefull with our purchases: European makers are not
fighting against USA makers. Neither the opposite. But buyers are "closing"
markets buying local brands without thinking if it is the best choice or not
Remember that European market is more than a few portion of USA makers.

Also, thought that Conn group is on the hands of Holland people, so most
probably, if they think about moving production, they will think in new
European members (East-Europe), wich tradition in making brass (and other)
instruments is really unbeliveable.

Most probably, if things still like today, Conn group (and other) should
arrange a new factory in the future for European market. That's my thought.

BEST REGARDS !!!
