The question is not where are the horns made.
The question is that if we "close" the markets locally, most of the USA
makers will suffer a lot. only 3 of each 10 Strads are sold in the USA. Is
not my preffered trumpet, but it is a good standard trumpet.
European makers will not suffer as much, because most of we are small
companies.
Some "Tpiners" claim for the "American made". That's a good thing, but needs
to think about what they say.
At this moment, North-American brass instruments industries are in a very
delicate situation if makets start to be focused locally. That kind of
comments are a perjudice for themselves (remember that you are posting on a
public list, open to USA and INTERNATIONAL players/makers/amateurs and all
those interested in the trumpet).
Hope you understand.
Finally, the important things are my family and me.
My bussiness will not be damaged if I have not USA buyers anymore. I make
only 60 natural trumpets per year, and my new line of custom B flats will
not be up to 75/year.
Thought that hein brothers (for me the best valve trumpets) makes ONLY
100-120 instruments per year.
How many trumpets make Bach ???
And the most important: HOW MANY WORKERS WOULD BE FIRED IF FOREIGN MARKET
LEFT BUYING IN THE USA ???
That's the important thing.
Hope you understand what I'm trying to say. My English is not the best, and
could be any misunderstanding.
FRIENDLY,
Francisco Pérez
