I watched this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzXNxHoFKqc
(Al Hirt plays while Maynard mostly, ahem, sings)

Wonderful! Happens to be a favorite song of mine.

Al is an -incredible- jazz player. I was just loving what he's doing melodically
there. But then I tried searching for Al Hirt on You Tube and other stuff there
is mostly trite nonsense. (Java, Cotton Candy)

Does anyone have any recommendations where I can find stuff like the MF duet and
avoid stuff like Cotton Candy? (Which sounds like 'The Shadows' played on
trumpet, and that's not a good thing!) Was Al's recording career mostly spend
playing populist rubbish like that? It would be such a shame.

Cheers,

Geoff
