Can anyone educate me as to what a Schmitt backbore is and what advantage it
provides to the mouthpiece characteristics?
All I know is that the mouthpiece that came with my Selmer Paris picc was a 7E with
Schmitt (117) backbore. I think that all Bach E cup mouthpieces have the Schmitt (117)
backbore as standard. Finally, I gave up using the 3E on my picc because I think my lip
was bottoming out on the cup. I may try again someday, but for now, I'm sticking to a 7D
that I found in a bargain bin a couple years ago.
